INTRODUCING THE PROJECT
The project aims to contribute to the development of rural and solidarity tourism in rural municipalities already engaged with municipalities in Herault as part of Projects Solidarity Water Loi Oudin.
This territory, hitherto completely excluded from the tourist circuit, wants to start a development process by putting tourism based on economic development of the region by integrating local actors and preserving the heritage. cultural and natural.; make the territory attractive to Moroccan and foreign tourists by creating tourist facilities by training local resource people in the various tourism trades.
This tourism project is being carried out in parallel with several water and sanitation projects in the villages carried out within the framework of decentralized cooperation between herault and Moroccan municipalities. According to the observations of local authorities and the population, economic development is the logical next step in improving the sanitary conditions of the villages.

RESULTS DIRECTS ATTENDUS
- Formalization of a rural tourism offer based on the consultation and involvement of the local population and supported by a multi-party steering committee (communities, associations, NGOs, cooperatives, inhabitants)
- Development of the valley’s economic activities promoting the structuring of income-generating activities, particularly through the marketing of traditional products (argan and derivatives, handicrafts). The actors, women and men of the project are trained in the tourism trades and the principles of rural tourism
- The mayors of the municipalities of the Arghen Valley have prepared projects related to the tourist reception and the rehabilitation of traditional housing.
IMPACTS ATTENDUS
- Economics: job creation with a benefit panel to develop (restoration, accommodation, sale of local crafts, argan oil, guides, etc.)
Social: slowing rural exodus and improving the quality of life of people
